I’ve spent this past year furrowing my brow and squinting my eyes at ultrasound machines, scratching my head as I tried to see what the doctor said I was seeing.
This latest ultrasound, though, I saw it right away: Our baby. A small white dot pulsing with the beginnings of life, latched onto the side of its amniotic sac.
In the coming weeks and months, it will grow and develop as such miracles do.
But that will come later.
For now, we weep with joy and happiness at our small, white dot, its tiny, newly formed heart taking its first beats.
So tiny, so precious.
And already so loved.
