truth is, we often don’t have time for truth. we pass it by without so much as a glance or a thought. our lives just seem too busy for truth.

truth is, most of the time, we prefer to cling to the lies and falsehoods like that poor cat hanging in there on that old poster.

truth is, we believe the lies and falsehoods are the truth. yet, we still feel empty, restless, and out of sorts.

truth is, we pursue a life of mass consumption, eagerly filling our lives and hearts and homes with more and more junk and excess stuff.

truth is, we give a lot of lip service to causes and beliefs. but when asked for more than words, we bumble and stumble and generally make excuses for staying home.

truth is, all people hurt in some way or another. whether they will admit it or not. we all have something broken inside.

truth is, we play silly, pointless games all for the sake of power and control, when the truth is, we have neither.

truth is, none of us knows how much time we have, yet we spend our time pursuing meaningless endeavors that keep us away from those that truly matter.

truth is, we’re all afraid. especially the brave ones.

truth is, most things we dwell on incessantly aren’t as big a deal as we think they are.

truth is, too few of us truly live life as we are called to live it.

truth is, whether we believe it or not, the evil one is working hard to keep us distracted, disengaged, and disposed to lies and falsehoods.

truth is, whether we believe it or not, jesus is for us, with us, and loves us.

truth is, no matter how far we stray, the truth will always set us free and reshape us.

question: what are some other things truth is?

truth is, often we accept a lousy imitation as the real deal. And that really is sad. It takes time, effort, determination and focus to differentiate if something is of real value or just accepting the first quick fix at arms length.
