what is truth?
to me, this is the essential question of humanity.
we spend our lives searching for the truths in our lives.
i’m not speaking of factual truths. the earth revolves around the sun. water freezes at 32 degrees fahrenheit. the yankees suck.
the truth of which i write – the truth we each spend our lives seeking – is that which is only seen and understood on a subconscious level. by the eyes of our hearts or the vision of our souls.
what is truth?
it is different for each of us. there are roughly 7 billion of us on this planet. granted, many of us share the same names and have similar backgrounds. but each is special, unique and one of a kind.
we each have a purpose. a personal truth that is unique to ourselves.
we each have something to bring to the tapestry of human existence and history. we are not just the product of millions of years of evolutionary randomness. we are here for a reason and we must fulfill whatever it might be.
if we fail to do so, the world misses out. and so we do.
if we fail to fulfill our purpose, we risk losing our souls.
i’m not talking about a heaven-hell, damnation type of soul-losing. it has little to do with your belief in god or heaven – or hell for that matter. but when we deny who we truly are, it hurts.
to the very core. in other words, to the soul.
i know firsthand what failing to live my purpose can do. ignoring it for too long, i fell into a deep depression that i have struggled with for more than a year.
when i mustered the courage and strength to make a change and get back to my writing – my purpose on this earth – i felt the heavy burden lift from my soul. my heart began to sing.
writing and sharing my ideas with the world.
that is my truth.
what’s yours?
